Goodbye 2011. I have to say I am very sad to see you go. It has been the best year of my life and I don't see how 2012 is going to top it. But then perhaps that's what my New Year's resolution(s) should be about.
Hmm, 2011 started with a new ACL in my left knee. Perhaps not the best start to 2011, but perhaps the resolution for 2012, is to not cause my body any more injuries for it to deal with.
A big birthday was had in 2011. I turned 30 and I was quite indulgent with the celebrations, but it was a lot of fun going to the zoo and having lots of dinners and nights out. I think this year I should take advantage of the fact that my birthday is on a Saturday and perhaps go away to celebrate?
Partying was a big theme of 2011. In addition to my 30th birthday, my sister and my 2 cousins got married. This year I have a hen do and 3 weddings to go to. I think partying will be a big theme of 2012 too.
Partying of the royal variety. 2011 was the year Prince William and Kate Middleton got married. This year it is the Queens Jubilee. So thanks in advance for the extra days holiday we will get this year.
Year of watching sport. One of the highlights of 2011 was to watch the Men's Final at the US Open. This year the UK is hosting the 2012 Olympic games and I have already planned ahead to be able to watch the Tennis Open in Paris this year.
New friendships and maintaining old. Spending 6 months in New York meant that I got to meet a lot of new people. With many I hope to maintain a friendship with for years to come. With starting a new job and moving to a new city, here's to continuing to meet new people and keeping my life interesting and spontaneous.
Enjoying life in the city. One of the things I loved about New York, was that I was reminded about how much I love city life. 2012 is about making the move to Birmingham city and moving away from Banbury.
With living and working in a new country, I took advantage and made time to explore my surroundings. Being back in Europe and having friends located in different parts of the world. I need to be conservative with my money to make sure I can save, save, save to ensure I can go out and see them.
Young Cerys was born July 2011. The daughter of my friends Gareth and Jo, who are like brother and sister to me. They have asked me to be her Godmother. 2012 is about watching Cerys grow and treasuring this early time with her.
Regrets? 2011 was a fantastic year and I have no regrets. I hope that 2012 will be just the same.
Happy New Year. I hope 2012 brings you lots of love, wealth and happiness.
